Honor Roll schools are recognized for consistently high levels of student achievement

Collin County schools were well represented on the 2025 Texas Honor Roll, a statewide list recognizing top-performing schools and districts.

Educational Results Partnership (ERP), a nonprofit that applies data science to accelerate student success, released the annual list after analyzing publicly available State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) data for 2023–2025.

This marks the eleventh year ERP has published the Honor Roll, which highlights schools that outperform their peers in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations.

Local Schools Highlighted

A total of 42 Collin County schools earned a spot on the Honor Roll:

Allen ISD: 4 schools
Frisco ISD: 13 schools
McKinney ISD: 4 schools
Meslissa ISD: 1 school
Plano ISD: 6 schools
Princeton ISD: 1 school
Prosper ISD: 1 school
Lovejoy ISD: 3 schools
Wylie ISD: 9 schools

Statewide, 1,076 schools and 84 school districts made the Honor Roll — about 15% of schools and 14.5% of districts in Texas. The full list is available at www.honorrollschools.com.

What The Honor Roll Recognizes

Honor Roll schools are recognized for consistently high levels of student achievement, improvements in academic performance over time, and reductions in achievement gaps among historically disadvantaged students. The program is part of a national effort to engage business leaders in promoting best practices that improve student outcomes.

“Many educators across Texas are already delivering rigorous instruction that equips students with the fundamentals they need to succeed in the workforce and in life,” said ERP Board Chair James Lanich, Ph.D. “The Honor Roll recognizes that work — identifying schools in a diversity of ZIP codes where students of all backgrounds are mastering the core academic skills that will help them thrive in a rapidly changing world of work.”

Methodology

ERP based its analysis on publicly available STAAR test score data provided by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Schools and districts were evaluated on student achievement, improvement over time and efforts to close achievement gaps.

The 2025 Texas Honor Roll is supported by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence and co-presented in partnership with the Texas Business Leadership Council.
