Officials with both cities of West University Place and Bellaire will hold their annual State of the City address in February. Here is what residents need to know to attend.
West University Place
According to a Jan. 27 news release, this year’s address in West U is expected to be particularly insightful, as Mayor Susan Sample highlights plans for pedestrian mobility enhancements, updates on various infrastructure projects and the Harris County Flood District’s Poor Farm Ditch Reconstruction Project.
When: Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m.Where: Community Building, 6104 Auden St., West University Place“2025 was a busy year for our city,” Sample said in the release. “We broke ground on significant infrastructure projects, welcomed new members to the City Council, approved funding to continue improvements to our sidewalks, water network and drainage system, all while continuing to offer one of the lowest property tax rates in Harris County for a full-service city.”
Sample said the State of the City address will be a great opportunity for residents to hear about those achievements, as well as upcoming projects and initiatives.
Bellaire
The city address will cover Bellaire’s accomplishments, projects and future vision and will be led by Mayor Gus Pappas.
“This [event] gives us a chance to stretch our legs and really take stock and inventory of all the things we’ve been doing and done, and perhaps what’s ahead for us all,” Pappas said. “I’m looking forward to that meeting.”
