Check out these events happening in the Austin area Jan. 30-Feb. 1, including performances by Vista Ridge High School theater, a winter celebration in Round Rock and a high-speed painting show in Buda.

‘Nice Work If You Can Get It’
The Vista Ridge High School theater department will put on a production of “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” a Prohibition-era musical. The performance will feature songs from George and Ira Gershwin.
The Best of Steve Martin & Martin Short
The two comedians have been touring together since 2015. The duo’s performance will be accompanied by musicians The Steep Canyon Rangers and Jeff Babko.
Frozen Fun Night
Capital Gymnastics Cedar Park is hosting a kids night out for children ages 4-13. Kids will have access to free gym time, games, obstacle courses and craft time. Capital Gymnastics will also show the movie “Frozen” and provide pizza for dinner. Children will need to bring a water bottle and are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing.

The Hutto Parks and Recreation Department will host a fishing day at Adam Orgain Park. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will stock the park’s pond with over 1,200 rainbow trout. All participants must bring their own fishing equipment.
Buda Art Brawl
Eight local artists will compete in a high-speed painting show set to live cumbia beats during three 20-minute rounds. Live and silent auctions will also be held to raise money for the Tandem Arts Partnership—a Buda nonprofit that supports artists in a range of ways.
Family Winter Ball
The city of Round Rock will host an adaptive and inclusive winter ball for individuals of all ages with various disabilities. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
