EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two men and a teen were apprehended after allegedly stealing a vehicle and fleeing from law enforcement, causing a vehicle and foot chase in East El Paso, according to the news release by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

At around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, a DPS trooper was assisting the El Paso Police Department Anti-Theft Task Force (EPPD ATTF) in search of a silver Chevy Impala that was reported stolen near Interstate 10 and Edgemere Boulevard.

The trooper was also working with Operation Lone Star and the Texas DPS Criminal Investigation Division.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and “committed additional violations” near Gateway Boulevard East and continued to flee from the marked DPS unit, according to the news release by DPS.

The driver then turned into the parking lot of The Fountains of Farah and fled on foot from the vehicle, along with two passengers.

The driver was apprehended by an EPPD officer and was identified as 26-year-old Marco Hernandez.
