In the latest chapter of early-season injury issues for the Dallas Stars, head coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters Tuesday that forward Matt Duchene will be out of the lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Duchene returned to the ice over the weekend after missing a game following a big hit he suffered last week against Minnesota. He skated 15:51 of ice time in a 3-1 loss to St. Louis on Saturday.

But ahead of Tuesday night’s game, Gulutzan deemed Duchene “day-to-day” as he once again will be sidelined.

Earlier this week, the Stars placed defenseman Nils Lundkvist on injured reserve, who is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

The Stars have now played without Duchene, Lundkvist, Oskar Bäck, who remains on IR, and Jamie Benn, who remains on LTIR after having surgery for a collapsed lung, in just their first five games this season.

Gulutzan said Monday that Benn is still weeks away from returning.
