CASA of Tarrant County is proud to announce the appointment of Suzy Yowell as Director of Community Partnerships, as the nonprofit continues its more than 40-year legacy of advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children.

In her role, Yowell leads efforts to grow volunteer involvement, build strong local partnerships, and increase CASA’s presence and impact across the county. With more than three decades of leadership experience in both the business and nonprofit sectors, she is a trusted voice in community engagement and partnership development throughout Tarrant County.

“We are beyond pleased to recognize Suzy in her much-deserved role at CASA of Tarrant County,” said Don Binnicker, Chief Executive Officer of CASA of Tarrant County. “She continues to work tirelessly to support our mission by recruiting community members to serve as volunteer advocates because the need is urgent: foster children need advocates now.”

Yowell brings a longstanding background in nonprofit work, including leading Texas’s first research team to apply a University of Pennsylvania methodology for measuring nonprofit economic impact and conducting multi-state valuation studies for Salvation Army Kroc Centers.

Yowell studied Nonprofit Management and Business Finance at Texas Christian University and holds a Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA) credential. An active member of the academic community, she serves as an adjunct instructor for Tarrant County College and TCU’s Silver Frogs program, where she teaches “Volunteer View,” a course designed to help individuals connect their passion with community involvement. Her insights have been featured in publications such as Neighborhood Church: Transforming Your Congregation into a Powerhouse for Mission.

About CASA of Tarrant County
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Tarrant County is an organization of volunteer advocates who stand up on behalf of children affected by abuse and neglect and increase the well-being of the children in foster care. Tarrant County has the fourth-highest confirmed number of cases of abuse and neglect in Texas. CASA recruits and trains community members – people from all walks of life and every corner of Tarrant County – to serve as volunteer advocates for children in foster care; to ensure that no child faces the uncertainty of foster care alone. These volunteers form a relationship with the child and their support system, learning about the child’s unique needs and strengths. They help secure therapeutic services, empower the child’s social support network, and ensure the child’s voice is amplified in court. Currently, CASA of Tarrant County has more than 400 active volunteers, but approximately 500 children each year still wait for a CASA advocate. Visit SpeakUpForAChild.org to learn more and sign up to make a difference in a child’s future.
