Jazz legend Branford Marsalis is headed to Plano for a standout night in the Plano Symphony Orchestra’s 2025–26 season, Music That Matters. The Branford Marsalis Jazz Quartet will perform on Feb. 21, 2026, at 8 p.m. at the Robinson Fine Arts Center.

The performance brings the quartet’s Belonging Tour to North Texas, spotlighting music from Marsalis’ acclaimed Blue Note Records album Belonging. The release reimagines Keith Jarrett’s 1974 ECM classic while showcasing the quartet’s signature blend of sophistication, risk-taking and deep musical conversation. In Plano, audiences can expect selections from Belonging, original works featuring the full orchestra and a curated mix of jazz standards.

A Quartet With Staying Power

Formed in 1986, the Branford Marsalis Quartet is celebrated not only for its musical range but also for its remarkable longevity. The ensemble includes pianist Joey Calderazzo, bassist Eric Revis and drummer Justin Faulkner, a lineup that has evolved together over decades rather than years. Their chemistry has earned multiple Grammy nominations and a reputation as one of the most compelling groups in modern jazz.

Marsalis himself remains one of the most versatile figures in contemporary music, moving fluidly between classical concert halls, jazz clubs and cross-genre collaborations. While his résumé includes Grammy wins and nominations across film, television and theater, the quartet remains the core of his artistic voice.
