LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Blue sand now fills gaps in sidewalks across Lubbock, representing advocates who support survivors of human trafficking.
Volunteers for the Texas Blue Sand Project added the reminder to sidewalks in south Lubbock on Thursday. The work took place outside the United at 113th St. and Slide Rd.
The statewide effort reminds residents that human trafficking happens everywhere, including on the South Plains.
The campaign includes a new element this year with informational stickers placed in bathrooms at United stores. The stickers are designed to spread awareness and share information that could help or save victims.
