LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) – The Alzheimer’s Football League (AlzFL) will officially kick off its 5th season with Draft Day on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the TTUHSC Academic Event Center (AEC), located at 3601 4th Street in Lubbock, Texas.
AlzFL is an all-women’s football league made up of dedicated women from across the Lubbock community who balance professional careers with a shared passion for making a difference. League participants include nurses, physical therapists, teachers, realtors, lenders, and other professionals, all united by one mission: to raise awareness and funding to support Alzheimer’s research and resources right here in Lubbock.
This landmark Draft Day event is being held in collaboration with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Garrison Institute on Aging (GIA), helping to bring together athletics, research, and community impact. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from several distinguished speakers between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., including Lubbock Mayor Mark McBrayer, Dr. Singer, Dr. Neugebauer, Rick Dykes, and other community leaders and advocates.
The event will also feature complimentary food donated by BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, as well as exclusive tours of the Texas Tech Brain Bank, offering attendees a firsthand look at the critical research taking place locally.
