EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Three Michelin-starred chefs are set to open a new restaurant in West El Paso.

Kala BajaMed is a new restaurant that highlights fresh ingredients, balance and refined simplicity with an emphasis on food designed to be shared, according to a news release by the restaurant.

In a social media post by Kala BajaMed, the restaurant was “born from three hears, three talents, one vision.” Michel-star chefs Mikel Alonso, Jonatán Gómez Luna and Carlos Gaytán collaborated to bring to “inspired warmth of Baja Mexico and the freshness of the Mediterranean.”

“We’re very proud to announce that this will be the first restaurant in El Paso to not have only one Michelin star chef but three Michelin star chefs that have combined their talents to bring it to El Paso and bring a brand new cuisine,” Owner Benjamin Arriola said.

Just like the unique cuisine blend Kala BajaMed brings, the restaurant looks to honor tradition, innovation, and reflect on the bicultural identity of the Borderland.

Kala officially opens to the public from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, at 7470 Cimarron Market Ave., Building 5, Suite 100.
