AUSTIN, Texas — A 39-year-old man was re-arrested for murder after his girlfriend succumbed to injuries from a shooting incident, according to the Austin Police Department. The incident occurred in the early hours of January 26, 2026, in the 5900 block of Wagon Bend.
The victim, Denise Tijerina, a Hispanic female born on August 17, 1980, was found with a gunshot wound in the kitchen of her residence. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later died from her injuries on January 28, 2026. The suspect, Samuel Boardman, a 39-year-old white male, was initially charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and released on a $5,000 bond. Following Tijerina’s death, a First Degree Murder warrant was issued, and Boardman was re-arrested.
