The Texas Longhorns enter their fourth conference matchup very alive for the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff. Yet, it feels anything but that after a near disaster in Lexington, needing overtime to defeat a Kentucky Wildcat team that has yet to win in conference play.
This week, another trip to a new location and another struggling opponent that will no doubt be chomping at the bit to take down Texas. And somehow, after failing to cover on the road for the fourth time this year, the Horns are a touchdown favorite over Mississippi State in Starkville, per FanDuel. What does Vegas know that we don’t?

Texas faces three teams currently inside the Top 10 of the AP Poll (Texas A&M, Georgia, and Vanderbilt), but has yet to face Arkansas and Mississippi State, who are a combined 0-6 in conference play.
