Plano’s 12th Street Station’s celebration will unveil a series of 16 windscreen installations with historic photos of Douglass Community members.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is set to celebrate the launch of the 26-mile Silver Line with events on Oct. 25.

The entire DART system will be free all day long on Oct. 25, with celebrations at each of the Silver Line’s 10 stops. There will be general festivities like family-friendly games and activities, food trucks, small business vendors, guided train tours and community booths. However, CityLine/Bush, UTD Station, Addison Station, Downtown Carrollton Station, Cypress Waters Station and 12th Street Station will have special activities.

Plano’s 12th Street Station’s celebration will unveil a series of 16 windscreen installations with historic photos of Douglass Community members, a remote broadcast on MAJIC 94.5 from 2 to 6 p.m., a free indoor concert with Jakarta Band from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Silver Line connects seven North Texas cities from Plano to DFW Airport with 10 new stations.

12th Street Station is located at 1200 K Ave. The art installation will be unveiled at 995 12th St.
