After a winter storm left North Texas blanketed in snow, ice and sleet last weekend, another cold front will bring another blast of Arctic air to the region late Friday.
Temperatures on Friday are expected to top out in the upper 40s before dipping to the teens at night once the colder air settles in, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
Breezy winds will make it feel cooler. Wind chills during the day are expected to range between 17 and 27 degrees. At night, northerly wind gusts could reach 20 mph, the weather service says.
The agency has already issued another cold weather advisory for North and Central Texas that is in effect at midnight Saturday through 11 a.m.

Other states in the Deep South are also included in the cold weather advisory, including areas in Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Other Southern states, including parts of Georgia and the Carolinas, could see significant snowfall this weekend, the weather service says.
No precipitation is expected for North Texas, however, during this round of cold weather, according to federal forecasters.
A shift in winds is expected to bring warmer weather to Dallas-Fort Worth Sunday with highs in the 50s and much warmer conditions for the first part of the work week.
