A Paw-Some Day Around the Hub City

When it comes to our four-legged friends, there’s not much we wouldn’t do for them. Lubbock may be known for its music, food, and friendly people, but it’s also full of places that welcome dogs with open arms (and sometimes a treat or two)! Whether you’re looking to relax with a local brew, stroll through the market, or grab dessert with your best buddy, here are five Lubbock spots that make any day a “dog day” in the best way possible.

Start your adventure at Two Docs Brewing Co. (502 Texas Ave), where good vibes and wagging tails are always welcome. While you enjoy a cold one, your pup can soak up the sun—or find a shady spot—on the spacious outdoor patio. Live music, yard games, and a friendly crowd make this one of Lubbock’s top hangouts for humans and hounds.

The Cotton Court Hotel

Next up, swing by The Cotton Court Hotel (1610 Broadway). Even if you’re not checking in for the night, the courtyard is a perfect place to relax with a drink while your pup mingles and cools off at one of their many water bowls. They even have pet-friendly treats on hand—because vacation calories don’t count for dogs either.

J’s Creamery

If you’re in the mood for something sweet, J’s Creamery (5101 82nd St) is a must. You can treat yourself to a sundae while your furry companion enjoys a puppy cone of their own. It’s adorable, delicious, and guaranteed to make tails wag.

Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market

Finally, wrap up your day at the Downtown Farmers Market (511 Avenue K), where dogs are just as welcome as their humans. Many vendors sell custom leashes, cute bandanas, and pup-approved accessories—perfect for showing off your dog’s Lubbock style.

Here are a few additional places or categories that tend to welcome pups (based on local listings I could find):

Dog parks & trails — many neighborhood parks, such as Canyon Run Dog Park or parts of Mackenzie Park, are dog-accessible (on leash).

Certain patios / breweries / coffee houses — besides Two Docs, spot-checking local brewpubs and patios often reveals they allow leashed dogs outdoors.

Pet supply & boutique stores — these usually let dogs inside, especially leash-controlled ones.

Farmers markets and outdoor markets — many permit dogs as long as they’re on leash and well-behaved.

So grab the leash, load up the car, and make it a day out in the Hub City. After all, every good dog deserves a great adventure.
