Texas isn’t done adding to its wide receiver group for the 2026 season.
According to ESPN’s Max Olson and On3’s Pete Nakos, the Longhorns have signed Wake Forest transfer Sterling Berkhalter. The wide receiver spent the 2025 season at Wake Forest, where he caught 30 passes for 416 yards and two touchdowns.
Texas would be Berkhalter’s fourth collegiate program. Before Wake Forest, he appeared in games at Cincinnati and North Carolina A&T. According to 247Sports, Berkhalter was a three-star recruit as a high schooler. He held offers from programs like South Alabama, Northern Illinois and Navy.
Earlier in the month, Nakos reported that Berkhalter had entered the transfer portal. He reportedly had a medical waiver approved, which grants him eligibility for the 2026 season.
