Developers have set a groundbreaking date for Frisco’s Grand Park. Meanwhile, a development featuring more than 100 single-family homes has been greenlit in McKinney and a new subdivision is set to bring 65 homes to Flower Mound.

1. Pottery Barn set to close in Frisco’s Stonebriar Centre

Pottery Barn closed Jan. 27 in Frisco’s Stonebriar Centre, according to store signage. The store sold furniture, bed and bath items, tableware and more.

2. Morphic Development gets zoning approval for homes in north McKinney

McKinney-based Morphic Development is pursuing the development of more than 100 single-family homes in north McKinney. The land, located north of CR 124 and west of CR 161, could see development of up to 111 single-family lots, Morchic Development co-founder Sam Franklin said.

3. Abbott’s Frozen Custard closes McKinney shop

Abbott’s Frozen Custard served its last scoop of custard in December, onsite signage states at the McKinney shop. The frozen treat franchise sold a variety of frozen custard flavors, sundaes, splits, milkshakes and more.

5. Frisco to break ground on Grand Park in April as Exide cleanup continues

After two decades of planning, construction crews are set to break ground on Grand Park in 2026. Grand Park will be a 1,011-acre “urban oasis” along the Dallas North Tollway, with four phases, according to the project website. Construction on the first phase of Civic Park, which will include an amphitheater, pond and walking trails, is set to begin this year after the groundbreaking ceremony in April.

6. Flower Mound council approves 65-home Canyon Falls subdivision

A 65-home subdivision within the Canyon Falls development in western Flower Mound is moving ahead. The addition to Canyon Falls will be located near a future intersection at Schmitz Boulevard and Denton Creek Boulevard.
