FABENS, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with a murder in Fabens after the teenage victim was rushed to a hospital in East El Paso.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Kelvin Lee-Armenta was arrested on Thursday and charged with murder after a 17-year-old, Andrey Martinez, died at Del Sol Medical Center after receiving a gunshot wound.

The investigation started after the Sheriff said deputies responded to a welfare check in Fabens after receiving calls of a person covered in blood and possibly armed.

Investigators later identified Lee-Armenta as a suspect and arrested him.

Jail records show Lee-Armenta was booked into the El Paso County Jail Annex, where he is being held without bond.

KFOX14/CBS4 is working to confirm if this is in connection with the large police presence reported at Del Sol Medical Center Thursday evening, after crews photographed multiple law enforcement units outside the hospital, wrapping the entrance and a red pickup truck with police tape.
