HOUSTON – Mayor John Whitmire made an announcement Wednesday afternoon regarding the future of the FIRST Championship in Houston.
FIRST, described as the largest youth-serving organization of its kind, provides hands-on STEM learning through robotics programs and competitions.
The organization’s signature robotics championship, held at the George R. Brown Convention Center seven times in recent years, draws more than 50,000 participants from around the world.
