COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Texas A&M police have identified three suspects in three separate groping incidents.
They occurred near Wolf Pen Creek Park and Century Square.
The first incident happened Jan. 24 at the Wolf Pen Creek Park bus stop. Police reports say a man began asking questions regarding the bus schedule, the victim’s name, and her current relationship status. Police say the conversation started after the suspect complimented the victim.
“When the suspect shook the victim’s hand, he pulled the victim close and grabbed her buttocks,” police said.
The second incident happened Jan. 25 at Century Square around 2 p.m. Police say two men approached the victim and began asking her questions regarding her age, name, and her phone number. This conversation was also initiated by complimenting the victim.
“When she declined to provide her personal information, one suspect grabbed her buttocks,” according to the police report.
The third incident happened Jan. 28 at Century Square around 2 p.m. A man again approached a victim with a compliment and asked if she was single. The suspect then grabbed her buttocks.
Texas A&M police identified four key recurring aspects:
An individual approached the victim and initiated a conversation with a compliment on the victim’s looks.The individuals began asking for personal information, including the victim’s name, age, and phone number.The individuals asked the victim about their current relationship status.The individuals initiated physical contact through a handshake or a hug as a ruse to get close to the victim for the indecent assault to occur
Police released the following descriptions of suspects
Incident 1Suspect is described as a male “looking to be black, approximately 5′7-5′9, with a short beard, and wearing a sweater”. He was described as having a “buzz cut, dark hair, dark eyes, and being a bit overweight”.Incident 2Suspect is described as being a “college-aged black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with dreadlocks extending down his back, no facial hair, wearing a red jacket with white detailing, blue jeans, and white shoes”.Incident 3Suspect is described as a “black man, approximately 30 years old, wearing a violet “The North Face” hoodie and sunglasses”, and stating his name is “James”.
