The search continues for three people after a 30-year-old woman was shot and killed in White Settlement.

Police say multiple shots were fired at the 600 block of Meadow Park Drive near a daycare and two schools.

Investigators are asking the public to take a close look at surveillance photos of the suspects who were seen wearing dark-colored clothing, black hooded sweatshirts pulled over the top of their heads, and black face coverings.

The suspects are also said to be males in their late teens or early twenties, seen leaving the scene on foot. Police believe the suspects are no longer in the immediate area.

Surveillance footage from a nearby neighbor captured the sound of several gunshots just after 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. Police responded to find the woman wounded.

She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Neighbor, Douglas Boswell, described hearing the shots and a commotion.

“I looked outside right when I see two kids running from the house and taking off down the street,” said Douglas.

He said he quickly realized the severity of the situation.

“The neighbor’s mother come running out screaming, ‘my daughter was shot.’ So, I ran over there to assist,” Douglas said. “She was laying down on the ground trying to get up.”

Police arrived and remained on scene for hours piecing together what happened. Nearby, a daycare and two schools were placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution.

Documents obtained by NBC 5 reveal a shooting happened at the same location several months ago, when victims and a suspect agreed to meet for the sale of THC vape pens.

The daycare owner nearby told NBC 5 she’s considering moving from the area.

Boswell is still processing what he witnessed.

“Her mom was really hysterical and stuff, just freaking out, because her and her daughter had just been shot,” he said. “And so, it was pretty sad.”
