The Oklahoma Sooners (12-9, 1-7 SEC) take on the Texas Longhorns (12-9, 3-5 SEC) in a must-win game on Saturday. The Sooners are in the midst of a seven-game losing streak, their longest of the Porter Moser era after starting SEC play 1-0.

The Sooners have not fared well against Texas under Moser. In four seasons, Oklahoma is 1-7 against the Longhorns and 0-4 at home. The one win came in the 2024-2025 season on the road in Austin.

The Sooners will need a big game from leading scorers Xzayvier Brown (16.3 ppg) and Nijel Pack (16 ppg) to find a way to slow down Texas’ Dailyn Swain, who’s averaging 17.5 points per game this season. Swain is coming off a 30-point performance in the Longhorns loss to Auburn.

The Sooners currently rank No. 74 in the nation in NET ratings, which will have them well outside the NCAA tournament if they’re not able to string some wins together. This is a pivotal contest for the Sooners to right the ship that’s gone off course in conference play.

Oklahoma 64, Texas 68: Porter Moser hasn’t had a lot of success against Texas during his career. He’s 0-4 against the Longhorns at home and 1-7 in his career against Oklahoma’s rivals. The Sooners simply don’t seem able to find some end-of-game success in SEC play.
