CLOVIS, New Mexico (KCBD) – The Clovis Police Department said one person is dead following a Saturday afternoon crash.
Around 3:45 p.m., the Clovis Police Department received a call for a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Thornton St. and Llano Estacado Blvd.
First responders responded to the location with police arriving first. Officers found 31-year-old Manuel Moreno in the street after being hit by a GMC pickup truck.
Officers started life-saving measures on Moreno until Clovis Fire Department Emergency Medical Services arrived and took over.
Moreno was taken to Plains Medical Regional Center where he died from his injuries.
According to CPD, witnesses told officers the truck was driving south on Thornton St., passing the green light when it hit Moreno, ejecting him from the bike, who was riding on the north side of the road.
The CPD Crash Team was called out and is investigating the crash.
