Total tonnage moving through the Port of Corpus Christi‘s ship channel in 2025 was 203.4 million tons, a marginal decrease of 1.5 percent from the 206.5 million tons moved in 2024. According to the Port of Corpus Christi, the year was marked by a significant increase in liquefied natural gas exports, which grew by 15.4 percent to 18.6 million tons.

Crude oil shipments for the year decreased 2.3 percent to 127.4 million tons. Dry bulk goods decreased 2.5 percent, and agricultural goods saw a 54 percent decrease. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Port customers moved 50.1 million tons of commodities, down from the record 54 million tons in the same period of 2024.

Leading commodities in the fourth quarter of 2025 were crude oil, refined products, and liquefied natural gas. The Port also marked the completion of the historic Corpus Christi Ship Channel Improvement Project in 2025, a project conceived more than three decades ago.

The project deepened the ship channel from 47 to 54 feet and widened it from 400 to 530 feet to accommodate larger vessels. Since 2015, the Port of Corpus Christi has invested $1 billion in capital projects to strengthen regional infrastructure.
