Thorston Neil Moore

October 18, 1934 – January 30, 2026

U.S. Veteran

On January 30,2026 Neil tipped his hat, put his driver away got in his golf cart and drove off to his heavenly home.  Thorston Neil Moore was born on October 18,1934 in the family home to parents Charlie Moore and Emma Stuart Moore.  He was the youngest of 11 children.

Neil graduated from Roby High School in 1953.  He joined the army in Feb of 54.  He married Darlene Coker on April 7, 1956. In 2 months, they would have been married 70 years.

Neil went to work for Western Electric as an installer in December of 57.  He made supervisor in 10 years.  In 1985 the company went through a divester and they changed company names several times.  He retired from Lucent in January of 1996 after 37 years in which time he travelled stateside and out of state.

He is survived by his wife Darlene Coker Moore.  Son’s Rocky Moore (Bonnie) Rusty Moore (Belinda).  5 grand daughters, 3 grandsons and 18 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Rena Moore Arrington, in laws, sister in law 6 brothers and 4 sisters.  Numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be Tuesday February 3,2026 at 2:00 P.M. A visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the Longworth Gin, Longworth TX.
