FORT WORTH, Texas — A man was fatally shot following an argument over french fries at an apartment complex on Jeremiah Drive, Fort Worth police reported. The incident occurred Wednesday evening, with the suspect still at large.
Officers responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m. and found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the head. CPR was administered by officers until Fort Worth Fire EMS arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries hours later, according to a press release from the Fort Worth Police Department.
Detectives from the Gun Violence Unit discovered that the shooting stemmed from a disagreement between friends over sharing french fries. The verbal altercation escalated, leading to the shooting. The suspect, who fled the scene, is believed to reside in the same apartment complex.
Despite searching the area and the suspect’s apartment, officers have not yet located the individual. Detectives continue to actively seek the suspect for questioning regarding the incident.
The Fort Worth Police Department assured the public that this was an isolated event and poses no known danger to the general public. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm the victim’s identity and the cause of death.
