Shun Thomas remains in the lead in the Plano City Council Place 7 special election.

Thomas has received 3,743 votes, or 57.63%, while Colleen Aguilar-Epstein has received 2,751 votes. Five of 11 Collin County precincts and all Denton County precincts are reporting.

What you need to know

Thomas has received 2,416 votes, or 58.36%, leading Colleen Aguilar-Epstein in the Plano City Council Place 7 race. Aguilar-Epstein has received 1,724 votes, according to early voting totals from Collin and Denton Counties.

Previous Place 7 council member Julie Holmer announced her resignation from Plano City Council last year to run for a Collin County Commissioners Court seat. The county seat will be up for election in May.
