After a cold, wintry couple of weeks in North Texas, the region is headed to a warmer week to start the second month of the year.

Temperatures Sunday are forecast to top out at 54 degrees before cooling down to 36 degrees overnight, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.

In the early hours, wind chills of 17 to 27 degrees can be expected, with gusts up to 10 mph.

The coming week will bring warmer days with temperatures ranging mostly in the 60s, the weather service’s forecast says. Overnight temperatures are expected to stay in the 30s and 40s, well above freezing.
