Colorado Springs police saw domestic abuse, gun violence and arson last week, among other incidents, with law enforcement making 334 arrests in El Paso County.

From Jan. 25 to Jan. 31, the Colorado Springs Police Department posted 14 blotter entries to its public database of incidents approved for release. Here is a recap of those entries:

On Monday, police were conducting a traffic stop near the 500 block of North Murray Boulevard, where the driver was removed from the vehicle for investigation. A rear passenger, Anthony Lofton, 32, allegedly got in the driver’s seat and attempted to flee. In doing so, Lofton “dragged” two officers with the vehicle, causing injuries, before being apprehended and arrested.

On Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Flintridge Drive after a male suspect allegedly fired multiple shots outside a home. When they arrived, police found an occupied residence and a vehicle sustained damage from gunfire. Officers arrested a suspect, Armando Malacara-Colon, who faces multiple felony weapons offenses and domestic violence charges.

On Wednesday, police conducted search warrants at two residences in southeast Colorado Springs. During the search, officers recovered a sawed-off shotgun and four handguns — one stolen. Two suspects were arrested, Tony Westfall, 20, and Joshua Palmer, 20, who both face felony weapons charges.

On Thursday, police were notified that a missing adult, 22-year-old Brandon Hugney, was near the 1500 block of Space Center Drive, where a fire had just been intentionally set. Hugney has been arrested multiple times in recent months on suspicion of arson. A second fire was lit in the area, and Hugney was arrested after being found about 300 feet from the second fire.

On Friday, a business in the 800 block of Palmer Park Boulevard was broken into after a stolen Kia Soul was used to crash through the exterior. The suspects stole two motorcycles and rode away on them, fleeing the scene without the Kia. No arrests have been announced.

On Saturday, police responded to a call alleging that a juvenile approached the caller for help, telling them that their parent was shot in a parking lot in the 4100 block of Lacy Lane. The victim was found with gunshot wounds and was rendered aid before being taken to a hospital. No arrests have been announced.

Also on Saturday, police responded to a domestic disturbance, where they found a male and a woman, each with weapons. The female suspect fled police and allegedly got inside a patrol vehicle, then reached for an officer’s weapon. Police fired at least one round at the suspect; she was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive.

Also on Tuesday, police arrested a suspect from a Dec. 17, 2025, assault and robbery; Anthony Lopez, 44. Lopez allegedly robbed a business in December and then fired shots into a victim’s car after being confronted. At the time of his arrest, police recovered a handgun with an illegal extended magazine.

Investigation determined that a Subaru SUV made a left turn in front of northbound traffic and collided with a silver Honda SUV. Occupants of the Subaru were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
