New York City FC recorded a 2-0 victory over Austin FC in its second preseason friendly in Austin, Texas on Sunday.

New York City FC recorded a 2-0 victory over Austin FC in its second preseason friendly in Austin, Texas on Sunday.

Forward Nico Fernandez Mercau opened the scoring, and forward Agustín Ojeda doubled the lead for the insurance tally.

The Pigeons will travel to Indio, Calif. for the 2026 Coachella Valley Invitational where they are set to face LAFC on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. ET in the first match of the tournament.

That will be followed with games against Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 4:30 pm ET and the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. ET.
