The No. 4 Texas Longhorns (20-2, 5-2) hosts the No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners (17-4, 5-3) for the 70th installment of the Red River Rivalry as College GameDay comes to Austin. Texas holds a 40-29 all-time series advantage against their rivals.
Oklahoma’s offense often draws the spotlight, the defense has been the engine behind this season’s success. OU leads the nation in opponent field goal percentage (32.4 percent) and ranks sixth nationally in defensive rating at 78.6 points allowed per 100 possessions. The Sooners hold opponents 12 points below their scoring average and 11.1 percent below their season field-goal percentage while allowing just 22.1 paint points per game, 11th in the NCAA. Oklahoma pressures teams at every level, forcing nearly 11 steals per game and ranking 14th nationally in blocks (5.8 per game).
Head coach Jennie Baranczyk is in her fifth year at the helm with successful seasons, but regularly comes up short against Texas with a 4-3 record against the Longhorns.
Center Reagan Beers averages 16.3 points per game on 59.8-percent shooting and adds 10.7 rebounds per game with 15 double-doubles on the season. True freshman Aaliyah Chaves leads Oklahoma averaging 18.9 points per game with 90 assists and 33 steals, alongside forward Sahara Williams, who shoots 47.2 percent from the field with 88 assists. Guards Payton Verhulst adds 11.3 points per game while Zya Vann averages 10.4 points per game.
The Sooners are 2-4 against ranked opponents this season and look to secure its first true road win against a top-four team.
In the 2025-26 season, Longhorns have played nine games against a ranked opponent and have faced four top-10 opponents. Texas is 6-2 on the season against ranked opponents with two wins against top-three teams (No. 2 UCLA and No. 3 South Carolina).
Junior Madison Booker leads the Longhorns averaging 19.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game alongside guard Rori Harmon, who has dished out 152 assists while only turning the ball over just 32 times on the season. Texas has six players averaging at least nine points per game for the season and four players averaging in double figures while the bench averages 29.4 points with the help from the center Kyla Oldacre and sophomore Justice Carlton holding down the paint. The Longhorn defense nabs 12.9 steals per game.
