Went to Houston for the first time ever this weekend and I experienced something at a sporting event I have not gotten in well over a decade.
This past Saturday the Mavericks were in Houston taking on the Rockets and I thought to myself. Why not drive 5.5 hours to a game? Decided to travel down and experience a city I have never been to in Texas. Stayed at the hotel in Houston with the Texas shaped lazy river.

Went and visited one of my favorite breweries, Saint Arnold to have a few beers before the game. Then I went to the Toyota Center and was shocked when I walked in the building. It was just like any other venue. Scan your phone to get in, but then the usher had something attached to her hip. It instantly printed off a physical ticket for me. I don’t think I have had a physical ticket for a sporting event in well over a decade.

This probably cost the Rockets around a nickel to make for each and every fan. I was honestly shocked that they get this in Houston. I have all the tickets on my phone of sporting events I have been to throughout the years, but something about a physical ticket brought me a lot of joy this weekend.

Also more nostalgia out of nowhere. The cast of The Sandlot was at the game…for some reason. Physical tickets, The Sandlot, what year is it?! Mavs lost, but Houston thanks for the ticket. Hopefully more teams jump on board with this.
