Allen at Prosper
7 p.m. Friday at Children’s Health Stadium
This game between two of the state’s top 6A teams will likely decide the District 6-6A champion. Prosper (7-0, 5-0 District 6-6A), ranked seventh among the state’s 6A programs, boasts the area’s top 6A offense entering Week 9 with an average of 510.3 yards per game. It also beat four-time state champion Austin Westlake earlier this season. Prosper bested Allen in district play in 2022 and 2023.
In 2024, Allen defeated Prosper 22-7 en route to the district title and an eventual bid to the 6A Division I regional finals. The five-time state champion has been on a roll ever since. Allen (7-0, 5-0 District 6-6A), the state’s second-ranked 6A team, claims the area’s second-best 6A defense and has held opponents to an average of 129.9 yards per game.
Prosper quarterback Braeden Imhoff has passed for 1,899 yards and 18 touchdowns. Imhoff has formed a strong connection with three-star Tulsa pledge Lathon Latiolais, who has 34 catches for 826 yards and 10 touchdowns. Allen, which has posted three shutouts, has its own offensive firepower. Florida Atlantic pledge Jeremiah Daoud has thrown for 1,256 yards and 16 touchdowns. Three-star Arizona pledge Caleb Smith has 32 catches for 563 yards and six touchdowns.

Frisco Wakeland at Frisco Lone Star
7 p.m. Friday at David Kuykendall Stadium
Lone Star (7–0, 5–0 District 5-5AI), which ranks second in the state among 5A Division I teams, takes on a fellow undefeated squad in Frisco Wakeland (8-0, 6–0 District 5-5AI) for a decisive game in the district title race. While Lone Star won its second consecutive district championship in 2024, its sole district loss came to Wakeland in a 65-59 upset.
High School Sports
A 5A Division I regional finalist in 2024, Lone Star has one of the most talented rosters in the area with four-star Florida pledge Davian Groce and four-star Baylor pledge Karece Hoyt being among the team’s standouts. Sophomore phenom Trey Wright has passed for 1,635 yards and 21 touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 706 yards and seven scores. Three-star senior quarterback Jayden Maples has played outstanding for Wakeland. He’s passed for 1,835 yards and 23 touchdowns, while Grayson Myer has 54 catches for 760 yards and 11 scores.
Both programs have some of the top offenses in the area, with Lone Star averaging 466.7 yards per game and Wakeland averaging 385.6.

Plano at Plano East
7 p.m. Friday at Kimbrough Stadium
Plano senior running back Chance Culley is one of the top 6A rushers in the area with 982 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. He’s helped Plano to a 4-3 record entering its Week 9 matchup with Plano East (1–6, 1–4 District 6-6A). Plano, currently 3–3 in District 6-6A play, won last year’s matchup with Plano East 34-24. Culley rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Princeton at Plano West
7 p.m. Friday at John Clark Stadium
At 5–2, Princeton has more wins in 2025 than in the past three seasons combined. Behind quarterback Marcus Flowers (2,112 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns) and receiver Jordan Mosley (60 catches for 937 yards and 12 touchdowns), the team has one of the top offenses in the area with an average of 435.7 yards per game. Princeton has a real shot at making the playoffs this year, which is why Friday’s matchup against Plano West is decisive. Plano West (5-3, 3-3 District 6-6A) won no games in 2024, but it is also having a magical season and vying for a playoff spot.

Flower Mound at Flower Mound Marcus
7 p.m. Thursday at Flower Mound
The Mound Showdown is back for another year as Flower Mound Marcus (3–3, 1–3 District 5-6A) hosts crosstown rival Flower Mound (2-5, 1-3 District 5-6A). Marcus won last season’s contest 33-32 and has not lost the rivalry game since 2021. Four-star junior quarterback Colton Nussmeier has passed for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns for Marcus. Flower Mound wide receiver Carter Massey has 47 catches for 931 yards and five touchdowns.

Cedar Hill at DeSoto
7 p.m. Friday at DeSoto
Both teams carry 3–1 records in District 11-6A entering Friday’s contest. DeSoto (4–3, 3–1 District 11-6A) beat Mesquite Horn 57-30 last week, as Cedar Hill (5–2, 3–1 District 11-6A) fell 35-0 to Waxahachie. When the rivals met last season, DeSoto won 63-24. And this season, DeSoto has one of the top 6A offenses in the area with an average of 459.6 yards per game. Three-star junior running back SaRod Baker has been outstanding for DeSoto with 964 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.

Aledo at Richland
7 p.m. Friday at Birdville ISD Fine Arts/ Athletic Complex
Richland came close to knocking off 12-time UIL state champion Aledo in 2024, but ultimately fell 48-42 in overtime when the teams met last October. This week, Richland (5–2, 4–1 District 3-5AI) has the chance to end undefeated Aledo’s district winning streak that began in 2007. Junior running back Jayshon Gibson, the area’s leading 5A rusher, has run for 1,357 yards and 19 touchdowns. Meanwhile junior quarterback Brett Kates has passed for 1,396 yards and 14 scores. Aledo, coming off a bye, shutout Granbury 61-0 in Week 7.

West Mesquite at Carrollton Creekview
7 p.m. Friday at Standridge Stadium
Both teams are undefeated in District 6-5AI, with Creekview being undefeated on the season. West Mesquite (6–1, 5-0 District 6-5AI) beat Creekview 48-21 last season and went on to win the district title. Creekview, on the verge of breaking the school record for most wins in a season this week, is averaging 496.8 yards of offense and 52.1 points per game. West Mesquite averages 52.7 points and 381.1 yards per game. Creekview quarterback Cason Garcia has passed for 1,943 yards and 21 touchdowns. West Mesquite wide receiver Richard Clark has 23 catches for 492 yards and eight touchdowns.

Colleyville Heritage at Mansfield Summit

This District 3-5AII contest will pit two of the area’s top 5A teams against each other. Mansfield Summit (5-2, 4-1 District 3-5AII) is averaging 434.6 yards of offense per game and Colleyville Heritage (4–3, 3–2 District 3-5AII) is averaging 388.1. Colleyville Heritage quarterback Bodey Weaver has played well this season, having thrown for 1,643 yards and 25 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 492 yards and seven scores. Summit running back Adarion Nettles has rushed for 1,024 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Prestonwood Christian at Parish Episcopal
7:30 p.m. Thursday at Parish Episcopal
Parish Episcopal (7–1, 4-0 TAPPS 1-I) , the state’s third-ranked private school team, made a statement last week when it beat defending TAPPS Division I state champion Argyle Liberty Christian 56-28. The program, which won five consecutive TAPPS state titles from 2019 through 2023, looks on pace to claim the district title. Rival Prestonwood Christian (3-3, 3–1 TAPPS 1-I) is the toughest opponent remaining on its schedule. Prestonwood Christian beat Frisco Legacy Christian 51-25 last week. The program is averaging 44.2 points per game, while Parish averages 44.8. Prestonwood Christian’s sole district loss came to Liberty Christian.

Rockwall-Heath at Longview
7:30 p.m. Friday at Longview
Rockwall-Heath (6–1, 3–0 District 10-6A) has been one of the surprise teams of the 2025 season after missing the playoffs in 2024. The state’s 17th-ranked 6A program will head east for a matchup with state power Longview, the defending District 10-6A champion and a 2024 6A Division II state semifinalist. Heath is the only 10-6A team with an undefeated record in district play. Junior running back Carter Zahm is among the area’s top 6A rushers with 790 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.

Prosper Walnut Grove at Lovejoy
7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lovejoy
Walnut Grove (7-0, 5-0 District 4-5AII), in just its second UIL season, is one of the most dominant teams in the Dallas area. Ranked seventh among the state’s 5A Division II teams, the defending District 4-5AII champion looks on pace to claim a second consecutive title. Walnut Grove’s average of 531.7 yards of offense per game is the highest in the Dallas area. The program visits a Lovejoy (4–3, 3–2 District 4-5AII) team that is fighting for a playoff spot in one of the toughest districts in the state. Three-star Walnut Grove running back Cam Newton has rushed for 1,256 yards and 22 touchdowns for a team that has scored 70 points three times this season.
