A student at Grand Oaks High School in Spring was transported to a local hospital Monday after being stabbed three times by another student, according to the Conroe ISD Police Department.
According to police, a physical altercation between two students occurred on the campus north of Houston at approximately 9 a.m. Monday. Conroe ISD Police Chief Matt Blakelock said one of the students sustained three stab wounds during the fight.
“The Conroe ISD Police Department and campus administration responded quickly, [and] with the assistance of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, was able to identify and apprehend the suspect who is now in custody,” Blakelock said.

The stabbing occurred about six weeks after a fatal stabbing at another Houston-area high school. Baytown Sterling High School student Aundre Matthews, 18, faces a murder charge and is being held in jail without the possibility of posting bail for his alleged role in the Dec. 17 death of Andrew Meismer, 16.
Authorities did not release the identities of the two students involved in the Conroe ISD stabbing, saying both are juveniles. Blakelock said the parents of both students had been notified.
The Grand Oaks campus remained open as of early Monday afternoon.
Blakelock said the stabbing remains under investigation and that both “disciplinary and legal action will be pursued in accordance with district policy and Texas state law.”
An increased law enforcement presence will remain in place on campus, according to the district, which said counselors will be available for any students who may need support.
