FORT WORTH – June Martin Van Buskirk, 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at First United Methodist Church, 800 W 5th Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. A reception will follow at the church. June was born on December 7, 1931, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Robert and Mabel Martin. She graduated from South Side High School in 1948 and graduated from the University of Memphis in 1953 with a B.S in Education. In 1954, she came to Fort Worth, Texas, to teach with two other friends for the FWISD. She later worked at Fort Worth Country Day School as first grade teacher for 18 years before she retired in 1989. She and her husband, James, were longtime members of the Inquirers Class and First United Methodist Church. She loved to cook, paint, sew and other arts and crafts. She was married to her husband for 58 years. June was preceded in death by her husband, James; sister-in-law, Mildred Jones; brother, Joseph Martin; and daughter-in-law, Ngoc Thach Le. She is survived by her son, James Van Buskirk; daughter, Jan Van Buskirk; grandchildren, Thao and Curtis Bottenfield, My-Hanh and Chinh Doan, Bridget and Phi Doan, and Laura Van Buskirk and Matt Stipek; nieces and nephews, Linda and Dan Toney, Patti and Dick Obenhaus; and 10 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Foundation, 800 W.
