Round Rock ISD’s superintendent received a 1% pay increase and a bonus in January.

What you need to know

Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez will continue to lead RRISD through at least 2029, after district officials voted to extend his contract Jan. 29.

In addition to a 1% increase to Azaiez’s base pay of $350,000, trustees also awarded him a bonus of $18,520, according to the district.

An updated contract including these new terms will be drawn up and finalized in the coming weeks.

What they’re saying

“It really takes the whole team to make our district strong, and all of us working together is what makes Round Rock ISD a destination district,” Azaiez said in a release from the district. “I am so thankful to the board and to our campus staff and administration for the work they do every day. I’m excited at the chance to continue leading our district.”

How we got here

Azaiez was first hired by the district in 2021 and has since had his contract extended four times.
