Dallas police shot a reportedly armed person at an apartment complex in the Red Bird area of the city Monday night after the individual allegedly threatened people, authorities said.

The shooting occurred in the 4300 block of Woodhollow Drive. According to a social media post by the department, no police officer was injured during the incident.

Officials did not immediately provide any information about the condition or the identity of the person who was shot.

Several residents and visitors came out to see what was going on as a result of the large police presence.

Around 10:20 p.m., Dallas police officers stood huddled behind a section of yellow crime scene tape that had been placed in the apartment parking lot.

About seven police cars and a department van were parked near the crime scene tape as people stood on their apartment balconies and porches to look at what was happening.
