Austin, tx — Austin city leaders are expected to vote this week on putting surveillance cameras in some city parks.

This comes after a vote for a similar contract was pulled last summer over privacy concerns.

The proposed contract with Live View Technologies would last 3-years, and cost $2 million.

Officials say the cameras will keep data collected for 60 days, and the company will not be able to access it.

The cameras will also not use facial recognition, and there will be a sinage at camera locations.

We want to ask you, do you think AI surveillance cameras should be in city parks?
