AUSTIN, Texas — Aspiring performers in Austin are getting a chance to step into the spotlight for free.
Zilker Theatre offers free Singin’ in the Rain audition workshop Feb. 21 for ages 12+
Zilker Theatre Productions is inviting the community to a complimentary audition workshop ahead of its upcoming production of Singin’ in the Rain.
The workshop takes place Saturday, February 21, 2026, and is designed for artists ages 12 and up, whether they are preparing for their very first audition or looking to sharpen their skills.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet Zilker Theatre’s creative team and learn what it takes to succeed in a real audition setting.
The session will cover vocals, dance, and choreography, audition etiquette, and callbacks.
Attendees will also receive live feedback and practical advice, including common do’s and don’ts performers face in the audition room.

The free workshop will be offered in two sessions, from 9 a.m. to noon and again from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., giving participants flexibility to choose a time that works best for them.
The event will be held at the Avenue Five Institute, located at 8620 Burnet Road, Suite 300, in Austin.
Organizers encourage participants to bring their voices, movement, curiosity, and a supportive spirit, emphasizing that the workshop is meant to be both educational and encouraging.
Zilker Theatre Productions says the goal is to create a welcoming environment where artists can learn, grow, and support one another as they prepare for the company’s 67th production of Singin’ in the Rain.

The workshop is free to attend, and no prior audition experience is required.
