MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A Memphis rapper found himself behind bars in Texas on drug charges. 

The Department of Public Safety in Harrison County, Texas, arrested Finesse2tymes, whose real name is Ricky Hampton, on Monday. 

Officers charged him with several counts of possession of a controlled substance, including two counts of possessing less than a gram of a controlled substance and two counts of possessing between one and four grams of a controlled substance.

He’s also charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and “possession of a dangerous drug,” a charge in Texas that refers to the possession of medication that requires a prescription, like Xanax or Vicodin. 

Along with the possession charges, police charged the Memphis rapper with having a prohibited substance in a correctional facility and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. 

According to jail records, Hampton was released on Tuesday.
