SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man accused in a double homicide in 2023 now has a 20-year-sentence in prison after a plea deal was reached.

Ricardo De La Fuente, along with a friend, was shot and killed during what the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says was an attempted carjacking. Investigators say Daquan Ruffin and two others approached the victims, which led to a confrontation that erupted in gunfire between the two groups.

KSAT-12 reports prosecutors dismissed a murder charge against Ruffin, and proceeded with an aggravated robbery conviction. Ruffin also signed a cooperation agreement to testify against Anthony Watson, Jr., who has already been sentenced to 45 years in prison as the shooter.
