For the fourth straight week, Texas was ranked fourth when the Associated Press released its weekly poll Monday. One day later, Texas held on to the No. 4 ranking that it claimed last week in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. Texas (21-2) trails unanimous No. 1 UConn (23-0), No. 2 UCLA (21-1) and No. 3 South Carolina (22-2) in both polls.
After beating Oklahoma, Texas didn’t move in the AP poll. The Longhorns, though, did pick up four points in a poll that collects votes from 31 media members. The Longhorns will have a chance to further impress voters over the next two weeks as the team’s next four games are against AP-ranked opponents:
Texas is currently riding a 38-game winning streak at home. That run at Moody Center includes last season’s 65-58 win over LSU, which beat the Longhorns in Baton Rouge last month.
