Best Brains Learning Center

Best Brains offers “academic enrichment programs in math, English, abacus and coding for children ages 3-14,” according to the owners. They say the center’s services are centered around small group instruction taught by board-certified teachers.

Boot Barn

One of the largest Western wear retailers in America moved into the space formerly occupied by Bed, Bath & Beyond, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2023. The retailer sells a wide variety of boots for men, women and children, including cowboy boots, work boots and hiking boots. Additionally, the store offers a range of hats, clothing and home decor to capture a Western aesthetic.

Café Java

Café Java has a selection of coffees, teas and juices and a range of breakfast and lunch offerings including pancakes, breakfast tacos, soup and salads. Specialty coffees include the “Butter Beer,” which features espresso, caramel and English toffee syrup, half and half, whipped cream, a caramel drizzle, and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

Desi District

A fast-casual Indian street food concept, the restaurant offers a modern take on classic dishes, alongside an adjacent market featuring Indian groceries, snacks and pantry staples. The business was founded by a group of Dallas locals seeking contemporary Indian street food options.

Estância Brazilian Steakhouse

The restaurant offers a traditional Brazilian-style dining experience featuring premium meats carved tableside, along with gourmet side dishes, an expansive salad bar, handcrafted cocktails and a curated wine list, according to its website. The Leander location is the restaurant’s second local outpost—the first operates within The Arboretum on Research Boulevard in Austin.

The coffee truck is now operating at The Secret Lantern Books and Games in Cedar Park. The menu boasts a collection of traditional coffee shop favorites, including lattes, cold brew, matcha, hot cocoa, lemonade, Italian soda and ice cream.

Planet Fitness

The gym chain offers cardio and strength training equipment, free fitness classes and community amenities such as locker rooms, showers and free Wi-Fi. Black Card memberships provide access to massage chairs, tanning beds and free guest passes.

Urban Youth Park

The kids movement center offers classes for children ages 2 and older, birthday parties, camps and a monthly kids night out event. Benefits of the classes include spatial and body awareness, balance, confidence, friendship building and team bonding, the website states.

Duff’s Famous Wings

Buffalo-born Duff’s Famous Wings will open a new location near Lakeline Mall. Duff’s is known for its classic Buffalo-style wings—hot red sauce, celery sticks and blue cheese. The menu also includes fried favorites, such as fried pickles, mozzarella sticks cheese fries and more.

Monkey Sports

Monkey Sports will bring sports gear, apparel, shoes and accessories to The Crossover in Cedar Park, with a planned opening in late spring or early summer, according to marketing manager Tony Yourell. Owned by John Naaman, the sporting goods retailer will offer equipment for hockey, soccer, baseball and lacrosse, with selections for men, women and youth, and may also include pickleball items and trading cards.

PopStroke

Mini-golf company PopStroke has announced plans to open a second Austin-area location in Cedar Park. The $5.8 million venture is anticipated to open in April, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Cedar Park community members can expect to find two 18-hole mini-golf courses, a full-service scratch kitchen restaurant and an ice cream parlor. The venue will include indoor and outdoor restaurant seating, three bars, an outdoor beer garden, yard games and a fully enclosed soft-surface playground.

Strong Sprouts

A new indoor gym and playground for children is headed to The Crossover later this year, according to co-owner David Fiori. Strong Sprouts is a family-owned and operated business offering a gym and indoor playground that will feature an event space, rooms for homeschooling, age-based gym classes, organized and free play.

Sky Zone

Construction on the 29,000-square-foot location is expected to begin in March. The new indoor trampoline park is slated to open in late 2026 or early 2027, according to a representative from Sky Zone. Features of the new space also include a cafe and kitchen area, private event spaces, lounge areas and office space.

Church of Whitestone

Church of Whitestone, located inside The Crossover is undergoing renovations to include new classrooms for the Whitestone Kids ministry and new offices for the staff. Services will not be impacted during the construction, according to a spokesperson from the church.

Genesis Red Light

The wellness studio celebrates half a decade of providing light therapy and treatments to residents in Cedar Park this February. Genesis Red Light provides a range of services such as red light therapy, which is a noninvasive treatment to reduce inflammation, boost energy production, shrink targeted fat cells and reduce joint pain.

Whitestone Brewery

The brewery celebrated 10 years of business in Cedar Park last month. Whitestone Brewery sells a selection of beer, wine, cider and hopwater. The brewery will host an anniversary party Feb. 28 to celebrate the milestone anniversary.

Relocations

Afterglow Integrative Esthetics & Wellness

The wellness concept relocated to a new Cedar Park storefront this past fall, according to owner Dana Kataoka. Clients can receive treatments such as facial waxing, eyebrow and eyelash tinting, facials, revitalizing eye treatments, hair follicle rejuvenation, massages and lip treatments.

Closings

Francesca’s

After 26 years in business, Houston-based clothing retail chain Francesca’s started the process of liquidating all merchandise and closing all stores in mid-January, according to a letter from company officials to the Texas Workforce Commission. The company operates more than 450 stores in over 45 states. Of the 52 stores in Texas, there is one in Cedar Park.

The Williamson County Bagel Company

The Williamson County Bagel Company in Cedar Park is permanently closed. The owners of the bagel shop said in an Instagram post that it closed in fall 2025. The family-owned shop opened in August 2024 near the border of Cedar Park and Leander. It offered bagels that were hand-rolled, boiled and baked in-house every day.
