LUBBOCK, Texas (KFDA) -The Palo Duro Lady Dons defeated the Lubbock High Lady Westerners 94-52 in a road game, followed by the Palo Duro boys defeating Lubbock High 76-32.
Girls game highlights
Addi Johnson scored early for Palo Duro, hitting a three-pointer from the top of the key after receiving the ball from the corner.
Johnson continued to contribute offensively, passing the ball inside to Braya Smith, who scored on a layup after working through the defense.
Zeinab Deng also scored for the Lady Dons, taking her defender one-on-one before stepping through the help defense and making a shot off the glass.
Palo Duro finished just short of 100 points in the 42-point victory.
The Lady Dons are now 10-4 in District 3-5A and 26-8 overall.
Boys game highlights
Cheston Mitchell Jr. intercepted a pass for Palo Duro and passed ahead to Abdi Hussein, who scored an easy basket at the rim.
Cuda Clayton attempted a step-back three-pointer that missed, but Zalen Nodine grabbed the rebound and scored on the putback.
Deuce Reese received an entry pass and scored a contested layup after backing down low in the post.
The Dons won 76-32 with contributions from multiple players on offense.
The boys are now 10-2 in District 3-5A and 21-5 overall.
