Gulf Coast Humane Society invites locals to donate $10 to write an ex’s name in a litter box — all for a good cause through Valentine’s Day.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Valentine’s Day is all about love… but what about the love that didn’t quite work out?
The Gulf Coast Humane Society (GHCS) has the purr-fect solution: let the cats do the dirty work.
For just $10, you can write your ex’s name in a litter box — and a furry friend will take it from there. The fundraiser, creatively called “Love Stinks”, benefits the Humane Society while giving jilted lovers a little playful revenge.
GCHS Director of Marketing & Development Jackie McCullough says, “Even though $10 might be a small amount, it really does make an impact here at the shelter — with vaccines, microchips, community clinics, and our food pantry. It’s accessible for everyone to participate and support the animals in our care.”
The fundraiser runs through Valentine’s Day, and if you’re feeling extra sweet, a $50 donation gets you a puppy-delivered bouquet for someone special.
“Turn heartbreak into help,” the Humane Society says. “Your ex might stink, but our cats never disappoint.”
