IRVING, Texas – Freshman runner Titus Kimaru was named the Big 12 Runner of the Week for the third time this season as the league office announced its weekly awards Tuesday afternoon.

Kimaru is the first Red Raider since Kennedy Kithuka in 2013 to earn the weekly honor at least three times in one season.

The freshman crossed the finish line 16 seconds ahead of the next runner to register his third win of the season this past weekend at the Arturo Barrios Invite. His 8k time of 22:36.1 went down as a new personal best. His third win of the season, the only time he did not finish first this year was at the Gans Creek Classic where he placed 37th.

Kimaru and the rest of the Red Raiders will have this week off before traveling to Lawrence, Kan., for the 2025 Big 12 Cross Country Championships.
