LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A cold front will push through the region early Wednesday morning, ushering in breezy conditions and cooler air for the rest of the day.

The front will move in before dawn, potentially bringing a brief sprinkle to areas off the Caprock. Otherwise, expect a dry day across the region. Clouds will increase during the morning hours as the system moves through.
What to expect Wednesday:
Breezy north winds will keep highs in the mid to upper 50s under mostly sunny skies. Post-frontal north winds will pick up by midday, reaching windy levels with gusty conditions expected through early evening. While the cold advection won’t be dramatic, this front will pack more of a punch than Tuesday’s system.

Winds will weaken quickly after sunset as high pressure builds in overhead. Skies will clear Wednesday night, bringing seasonably chilly overnight lows in the mid to upper 20s.

Mild temperatures will carry into this weekend and beyond. However, confidence remains low for rain showers early next week, with only low chances for showers possible on Monday.
