LIVINGSTON, Texas — A 62-year-old woman was arrested Saturday morning after assaulting an officer at the Livingston Police Department, according to a press release from the department. 

The woman, identified as Brenda Bradshaw of Livingston, was taken into custody without serious injury to the officer.

Bradshaw entered the police department lobby requesting to speak with a specific officer with whom she felt comfortable due to past interactions. When the officer arrived, Bradshaw unexpectedly assaulted him by punching and kicking, stated the source. 

During the investigation, officers discovered Bradshaw was in possession of a loaded pistol at the time of the incident. She was subsequently booked into the Polk County Jail on charges of Assault of a Peace Officer and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
