FORT WORTH — Recovery Resource Council announced a leadership transition on its Board of Directors, with Rosa Maria Berdeja assuming the role of Board Chair effective January 2026. Berdeja succeeds Paul F. Boyd, who has concluded his tenure as Board Chair following dedicated service during a period of organizational growth and transition.

Berdeja joined the Council’s Board of Directors in 2021 and has served as Vice Chair since 2024. An attorney and longtime community advocate, she has played a key leadership role on the Board, working closely with executive leadership to strengthen governance, support strategic planning, and ensure organizational stability. She brings deep institutional knowledge, continuity, and a strong governance perspective as the Council enters its next chapter.

“It is a great honor to step into the role of Board Chair of Recovery Resource Council, an organization that is near and dear to my heart,” said Berdeja. “I look forward to building upon the incredible work Paul has accomplished during his tenure as we continue to expand our impact in the community alongside the Council’s Board, staff, and partners.”

Paul F. Boyd has served on the Council’s Board of Directors since 2020 and as Board Chair since 2024. A senior operations executive with leadership experience across both nonprofit and private-sector organizations, Boyd provided steady guidance during a period of organizational transition. As Chair, he strengthened Board governance, advanced financial sustainability, and supported long-term planning efforts that positioned the organization for future growth, including facility transformation initiatives and leadership succession planning.

“Serving as Board Chair for Recovery Resource Council has been a true honor,” said Boyd. “As we look ahead, I am confident in Rosa’s leadership to take the Council to the next level—expanding our impact, strengthening our foundation, and helping more individuals and families find hope, healing, and lasting recovery.”

In addition, Stephen Taylor has been appointed Vice Chair of the Board. Taylor, an attorney, has served on the Board since 2023 and currently chairs the Mission Advancement Committee, supporting the Council’s strategic growth and community impact efforts.

This leadership transition reflects the Board’s commitment to thoughtful succession planning, continuity, and governance excellence as the Council marks its 80th anniversary and looks ahead to the future of its mission.
