Love and be loved in return at L’amour Noir. This February, beloved local Houston cocteleria Botonica is debuting its first-ever Valentine’s pop-up inspired by the dark romance, performance, and Bohemia of Moulin Rouge.
L’Amour Noir at Botonica kicks off Friday, February 6. For the bar’s first-ever Valentine’s pop-up, Botonica is transforming its upstairs bar into a tantalizing, after-dark experience. Inside its immersive, art-forward space, visitors can enjoy an enticing series of curated cocktails that explore Valentine’s themes. Featured cocktails made special for the Moulin Rouge-inspired pop-up include:
Malamente: pisco, Amaras Verde Mezcal, lime, pineapple, arbol chili Coqueta: Ketel One Vodka, mandarin, strawberry, vanilla, lemon, egg white Lip Service: Tequila Blanco, grapefruit, guava, rose water, lime, cinnamon Dry Spell: Cut Above N/A Gin, N/A Aperitivo, basil, lemon, salted cantaloupe

A series of small bites will also be available at the L’amour Noir pop-up, with options for caviar service, oysters, and its signature rum cake, dulce de leche, and decadent chocolate mousse.
Throughout the event, Botonica will host a dynamic programming lineup. Varying nightly, the pop-up will see Tarot & Tini nights on Wednesdays, burlesque performances on Thursdays, live jazz and instrumental music on Fridays, and cabaret-style performances inspired by Moulin Rouge on Saturdays.
All performances – save for live music – are ticketed. Doors open for each at 9 pm; shows start at 9:30 pm.
“While our Halloween & Christmas pop-ups are more large-scale, we are really excited to debut an intentionally intimate and luxurious experience with L’Amour Noir,” said Alexis Mijares in a press release.

“We want guests to feel like they’ve stepped into a private salon within a glamorous vintage world. It is going to be very romantic but in a way that feels timeless and untraditional with just the right amount of theatrics and playfulness.”
L’amour Rouge pop-up at Botonica is strictly 21+.
Botonica is located in River Oaks at 2031 Westcreek Lake. L’Amour Noir runs from February 6 to February 21. The venue is open from 4 pm – 12 am Wednesday through Saturdays. The bar encourages visitors to make reservations beforehand.
